          The singer was reported dead last July 23, 2011 and, gosh, I only knew this now.

          I never really liked Amy Winehouse to start with because every time I hear her voice in our iPod, I always think that this singer has a weird voice. But now, realizing that those singers who have weird voices are those singers that have very unique and rare voices that only comes in a once-in-a-lifetime in the music industry. I include Adele in this list.

          I started to like her when I heard Santana Lopez from Glee singing 'Back to Black'. I instantly had a different perspective on her. Not the drug-addicted Amy Winehouse, but rather a passionate Amy Winehouse.

          But then, I suddenly saw her singing Back to Black in MTV and that's when I decided that I'm an official fan of her. And then, I heard from my sister that she just died. I mean,WHATTTT????!!! Just when I started to like her, she died already??!! I regret that I didn't appreciate her voice before...

          Really, what a disappointing occurrence. She's just 27 years old! She could've gone further more in her career. But I guess that's fate. And her addiction to drugs is the MAIN REASON.

          And what is one of the reasons for the artists' turn to drugs? Well, I'm sure one is the media which is the reason for the stars' feeling of overwhelming pressure. I mean following them in every move and making rude remarks about their fashion and everything they do? That's just over the limit. I mean criticisms are good IF they're CONSTRUCTIVE and NOT DESTRUCTIVE.

          I think Amy Winehouse's reason for turning to drugs is different but the media is the most common reason why most stars turn to drugs. We will lose valuable singers and artists if this continues, just saying...

No Warnings about Love

Today, it's the first time I heard him say thank you.
Not really heard, but rather saw, 'cause we were having a chat.
A sincere one indeed, one that I've felt with my heart.
My heart flutters, my stomach filled with butterflies.
But I remember why, I'm trying to forget him.
Because I've earned myself another broken heart.
I feel like a stalker, always reading his blog.
And everytime I see love quotes,
I felt my heart drop.
Either because it's so sweet that it makes me smile,
Or because I know that it's for someone else, but I imagine it to be mine.
I kept on pushing and pushing ,
Until I felt my heart break.
And through these words I say,
You can feel what I feel.
You may say I'm bitter,
But that's how it is.
These words I say are meant for him,
But I know he'll never read it.
I want to declare my love for him,
But it would be inappropriate,
And especially heartbreaking.
But I still want to do this,
Hoping he also loves me.
But deep inside my heart
Is that never-ending pain of love for him.
I think I never loved a guy like this.
Experienced it before but ain't like this.
And now I will say,
Loving him is so hard,
No one ever warned me about this,
But then I realized,
I was the one who got myself into this.
And someday I hope,
You'll be my one and only.
But I hate hoping and waiting for someone.
Because you'll never know if it will be worth it.
There's no turning back now.
But looking forward,
I know I can move on,
If we're not meant to be.

            I watched this movie after our Kruhaylympics at the cinemas last July 9, 2011.

             I normally watch romantic-comedy movies, but oftentimes, horror movies really interest me. So the moment I heard the title of this movie in the radio, I instantly thought, 'Oh, this will be good!'. My mother actually wants us all to watch the latest Transformers film, but I insisted on watching this film. I was excited then, but the moment I saw the promotional poster, my excitement suddenly died down because the poster looked somehow like for cheap movies honestly and frankly speaking. But I STILL went for it with my sister.

BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!

(FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T WATCHED THE FILM YET)

So let's start with the positive comments:

• The setting of the movie is good. It gives off a dark, mysterious and scary feeling running down your spine.
• The sound and some of the visual effects is quite good since I felt fear and started covering my eyes.
• The supporting characters' acting skills were good and convincing enough.

And here's the downside of the movie...a heck lot of it:

• The plot is very cliche. It's somehow about the main character, together with her husband, visiting her bed-ridden mother and I tink she did something to the mother to make the latter despise her, even to the point of wanting to kill her for revenge. And some of the scenes are just plain stupid honestly, like they have just been put there to actually make the movie longer. This is even the first time I fell asleep through half of a movie. I think that just proves it.
• The visual effects are generally not that good since most of the times, the way the ghosts and the dead fly has glitches and the throwing of the ax has unforgivable errors too. Considering that we're in a time where technology is almost at its peak, I think this is quite unforgivable really.

So if I were to rate this movie...I'll rate it...

                 I mentioned this because lately, this game has become my latest addiction. It's like a hand version of Dance, Dance Revolution!! It also develops coordination and agility. It's like exercising your arms and hands (and also your brain:)) in a fun way!! It can be fun most of the times, especially when you get it right, but it also gets annoying when you always FAIL!!

1.       Mariah Carey

 When I was a kid, this whistle singer is the first singer whose most songs became my favorites. Her cool and soulful voice is always nice to listen to, and to add to that, her songs’ tunes harmonize with it. I even like her more now because of her RnB songs. The main thing I like about the latter is how the beats are placed together. It somehow mixes with modern pop culture without overpowering the soul in her voice.

2.       Charice Pempengco

           Charice Pempengco is the very first singer who inspired me to become a better one. The first time I watched a video of her, singing ‘And I Am Telling You…’ in Star King, a South Korean variety show, I instantly felt goose bumps ran through my spine. I was really amazed at how she effortlessly hit the high notes in the song. From then, I started to watch every performance she does, through Youtube, and I became a dedicated fan of her. I also started imitating her voice, and practiced singing the songs she sings. She was also the one who inspired me to take up singing lessons which helped me improve my singing skills.

3.       Whitney Houston

           Whitney Houston is a singer gifted with powerful vocals. Run to You, I Will Always Love You and I Have Nothing are the songs that she sang which I like. She also stands as one of my inspirations in becoming a better singer and also, she is one of the singers I look up to.

4.       Celine Dion

             It was in the Titanic film when I first heard from this famous singer and I instantly loved her. Her natural, colorful and soulful voice always makes my heart filled with different emotions. Only few singers have this kind of effect on me and to add to that, she is very humble. That is why I consider her as one of the singers I look up to and also one of my inspirations.

5.       Park Bom (2NE1)

            Park Bom, as previously mentioned, serves as the main vocalist of the famous K-pop girl group, 2NE1. Her powerful, natural and colorful voice is fitted for the chorus part of their songs. She serves as one of my inspirations and also one of the singers I look up to because of this and also because of her perseverance and hard work in becoming a singer. She continuously auditioned for 2 years for YG Entertainment, a South Korean talent agency, even after being rejected by the company at her first try. But finally, after these two years, she was finally accepted as a trainee in the agency to debut on May 17, 2009 with 3 other members, Lee Chaerin (CL), Gong Minji (Minzy) and Park Sandara (Dara).

            Yes! It’s Adele! The singer with the powerful and unique voice who just recently rose to fame with her song,’ Rolling in the Deep’. Her song, One and Only is the song that instantly made me cry the first time I heard it. I remember that she said once that she makes music for the ears, not for the eyes, in regards to her physical appearance. I look up to her because of her confidence and courage to go through the music industry where looks seem like more important than your voice.

A Short Post about Myself

           This is my first post and I am happy that I have experienced this. :)

           Hi! You can call me Michele here. I’m currently 13 years old, in my 2^nd year in high school, almost barely surviving my activities in the first month of my sophomore year. It’s hard, but I’m dealing with it, alright?

           I’m a pure Filipino, Pinoy to be exact and proud to be one. But I have a great, great grandmother and great grandfather who are Spanish and Chinese respectively. But I consider myself as a pure-blooded Pinoy.

          I’ve gained a number of friends in my high school life, including the two best friends I never had and some close friends I share my personal stories with. I show different sides of myself to my friends. Whenever a stranger will look at me, they’ll always say I’m a shy and timid girl but for me, the sides I show to my friends completely contradict the sides I show to strangers. So I suggest that you should know me first before you can judge me. I can do unexpected things during unexpected times, so I’m a pretty complicated person at times. In other words, I only follow myself and no one else. I’m just me.

           Even though my high school life is a bit difficult, there’s always this one thing that I’ve been waiting for whenever I read these romantic novels: a High School Romance (giggles:)). It may be a bit pathetic to others but I don’t care, I just want to experience it. I also want to know what it feels like having my first love, and I think I’m currently experiencing having one. I’m a bit confused if he’s really my first love or having just another childish crush, but I guess I can only wait. I treat him like my first love because it’s my first time liking a guy because of his personality, not his looks. But anyway…

            My hobbies include writing short stories, reading romantic-comedy novels and mostly watching television and surfing the net. I used to be a die-hard 2ne1 fan but I think my passion of being a fan girl for them slowly dies down but I still like them. I’m not a die-hard K-pop fan also…don’t worry. ;)

Their passion in performing on stage and, the addicting lyrics and beats of their songs attracted me to them, like a magnet. They never fail to sweep the top Korean charts every time they release a single and this is proven with their latest single, ‘I AM THE BEST’, which achieved a ‘PERFECT ALL-KILL STATUS’ sweeping off the top South Korean portal music charts within 24 hours of its release.

           Girl Power is the top priority of this group. 2NE1 is one of the top Korean groups or bands, even though they’re an-all female group.
